Rules.

Crossovers
- Crossover Fandom can be found under No Media in the tagset.

- Crossovers should be nominated under the fandom Crossover Fandom. Format the group as Group: Character A (Fandom A) and Character B (Fandom B). For example, Group: Aredhel (The Silmarillion) and Susan Pevensie (Narnia). If you hit a character limit, let the mod know. If in doubt, feel free to ask.

- If a character in a crossover group belongs to a fandom with multiple versions (e.g. either Lord of the Rings books or Lord of the Rings movies), either be specific in your nomination or accept that you are leaving choice of version to your creator.

Marvel
- Nominate the movies, Wandavision, and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier together under Marvel Cinematic Universe
- Nominate Marvel Netflix shows together under The Defenders (TV)
- Nominate Agent Carter (TV) on its own
- Nominate Venom (2018) on its own
- Nominate comics under their universe title, such as Marvel 616
- Nominate other non-MCU Marvel movies such as Fantastic Four on their own
- Nominate other shows such as Agents of SHIELD and Legion on their own
- Nominate in-universe Marvel crossovers under whichever title you think best, or under Crossover Fandom

Commenting to help clarify my "Group: Female Warrior of Light and Fray | Esteem" nomination for FF14, because the search results are probably kind of confusing. (Also really spoilery if you haven't finished that quest line, so here's a spoiler warning if you're playing FF14 and haven't done the original Dark Knight quest line.)

Fray Myste was a guy. He's dead by the time you find him and never appears in person. The entity known as Fray or Esteem is a sort of hallucinatory representation of your anger at the world; they match the player character's gender, so if the Warrior of Light (player character) is female, Fray|Esteem is also female. Fray|Esteem is a separate enough entity to talk to you at length in your quest log and take physical form to fight for or against you, so I think they do count as a character.

Also, I realized I messed up my "Group: Mothwing and Leafpool" nom under Warriors and accidentally renamed them Mothpool and Leafwing! I've fixed it now, but the individual character tag for Mothwing is approved and it isn't. Sorry about that!

Hey! You can use 'G:' as the prefix instead of 'Group:' and drop 'Agatha' from the 'Agatha Christie' disambiguations - those don't have to be 100% the way you would write them in a fandom nomination, just give enough information so we & any potential creators/requesters know the fandom.

If trying to nominate the longer versions locked your nominations page, let me know and I'll add these three manually.

Hi,

First, as last round, I'd like to nominate Jack Pattillo under the fandom "Fake AH Crew & Related Fandoms." My comment and explanation from last round is here, should you need it.

Secondly, to clarify, would it be correct to say that a character without a canonical gender is eligible as long as the character is either commonly interpreted as a woman in fandom, or is a woman in the work produced for this exchange? (I am specifically thinking of a video game fandom in which no character has a canonical gender, being mostly just a name and numbers; I'm happy to clarify more if needed)

I just realized I should clarify my noms to save us all time, so here I am xD

I nominated Anri of Astora and Abyss Watchers for Dark Souls 3. Anri is always the opposite binary gender of the player character, so you can have female Anri if PC is male (which is bullshit and I'm angry at FromSoft, but that's another story).

As for the Abyss Watchers, they're a group without specified gender, and there's no canonical tag for a single Watcher, so we can totally have a female Abyss Watcher! Should I renominate it as Female Abyss Watcher?

Unable to submit tags for nominations

Hi,

I try to submit tags for Supernatural characters, but I keep get this error when I click on submit.

"Sorry! We couldn't save this tag set nomination because:
Owned tag set You have already submitted nominations for that tag set. Try editing them instead."

Hey! You might be trying to go to the a nominations page, instead of your own nominations page. If you go directly to the tagset (https://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/6938), there should be a button that says 'My Nominations' up in the top right corner. That should take you directly to your nominations page, and you can add the Supernatural nominations to your previous ones.

This happened to me during the 5K nominations signup. The mod had to remove the supposed “ghost” tags that were floating on my account. Basically a reset of my nomination page fixed the issue. It’s an archive issue that hasn’t been fixed yet.

Ah! My friend submitted a supernatural tag Sarah and for some reason it has been corrected to Sarah Blake. While she is a character in supernatural there is a character named Sarah who is Nick’s wife. There is no last name. She’s not on right now, but I can tell her tomorrow.

Question about the "A (Fandom)" format in noms

I've never submitted nominations on the AO3 before. :-) I tried to do so for everywoman last night, but I ran into a confusion.

The instructions here on the community say to submit all nominations in the form "A (Fandom)," like "Natalie Lambert (Forever Knight)." So I did submit in that exact format! But that's not the AO3-canonical tag form in most cases in my fandoms, where mostly the "(Fandom)" at the end has never been included. So I ended up submitting many non-canonical-tags for otherwise-AO3-canonical characters, trying to precisely follow the instruction, like "Tessa Noel (Highlander: The Series)" and "Jacqueline Roget (Young Blades)."

Should I switch those all to their canonical-tag forms, with or without fandom, before you need to review them?

Thanks for asking, and welcome to the exchange! We prefer the version with the fandom name, even if it's not the canonical form. Because of the way AO3 organises tags, it's very possible for characters to become disconnected from their fandom, and the fandom name helps us put them back where they belong if that happens. You don't need to do anything :)

should have (Deja Vu MV) and (R.o.S.E Blue MV). The arrangement of the names doesn't matter so either can have either ().
