Questions

1. Do you prefer fandoms that have lots of related parts be grouped together for ease of requesting and offering groups or separated out to make it easier to request/offer any? I do have two ideas on how to accommodate those that might want only a specific part of a fandom.

EDIT: I don't mean throwing everything under one banner and calling it a day.  I mean more like "MCU - Netflix shows" which would include Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

2. If fandoms are merged would you like more nomination slots?

3. Would you rather be allowed to nominate relationships or stick to the current groups method? If I decide to allow relationships that will include any relationship that is comprised of at least 50% canonical female characters. Sticking to groups will maintain the current status quo.

1. I prefer them being separate. Since the character can be very different from each canon, I find it easier for requesting and offering purposes.

2. No opinion.

3. I like the current format.

1. As a Tolkien fan I very strongly prefer books being separate from movies. I also prefer LOTR being separate from the Silmarillion, because (1) the Silmarillion already tends to get a (wonderfully!) large tag set, and combining with LOTR would make it even more unwieldy, and (2) some characters such as Galadriel appear in both books but not everyone has read both of them, and keeping them as separate fandoms makes things much clearer and avoids mismatched expectations.

I do see the issue that combining fandoms would make it easier to offer/request groups, but there are other exchanges which concentrate more on relationships, and I'm happy for this exchange to be more about character-based matching.

2. I think that would help.

3. I lean towards nominating relationships because it's more intuitive, but I'm fine with whatever works best to make the exchange run smoothly.

Hmm, okay. I think I misunderstood what you meant by "grouped together."

There are almost no female characters in the Hobbit book, so I don't think it makes much difference one way or the other in this case. I'd be okay with grouping the Hobbit and LOTR books together, though I don't know if others might have other opinions.

I'm not really in movies fandom, so I'll leave it to others to comment on that.

1. I'm in comics fandoms, and with the movies as well it doesn't make much sense to group them together into, say, "Marvel". I can write both comics and movies but a lot of people are only into one or the other.

2. Depends on the kind of merging

3. Don't mind either way

In that case, I think that's a reasonable grouping and allows people to swap around female characters in the same universe when each bit of canon doesn't necessarily have that many.

I prefer them to be separate, because even if all the shows take place in the same universe, that doesn't mean that I'm familiar with all of them. I've seen most of Jessica Jones, I've heard about Daredevil on Tumblr but never watched it, I know less than nothing about the show Luke Cage--and I wouldn't watch Iron Fist if you paid me.

Also, there can be significant differences in characterization between shows or movies that share a universe.

2. If fandoms are merged would you like more nomination slots?

I'd really rather that they weren't merged at all. Other than that, I don't have an opinion at this time.

I don't see any reason to change the status quo.

1. Eeeeh, I tend to prefer the groups being split apart for characterization purposes in requesting/offering (but I'm never trying to make extra work for the mod, too - so if it's easier to group them up... I'll live.)

2. I can't even remember how many nomination slots we get. Okay, last time it was 4 fandoms & 4 slots per fandom. Which. Yeah, if fandoms are merged, I definitely want more nomination slots.

4. Stick to the groups, please - I like how the setup is now for multiple people.

Yay, I'm glad this is back! I'm really looking forward to taking part again.

1. I think the only fandom(s) I have that might be affected would be Riverdale (TV) vs. Archie Comics. Personally, I'd prefer that those stay separate, as the backstory, characterization, etc. are very different between the two sources.

2. Probably no difference.

3. For this exchange, I prefer the existing group system.

1. I prefer together, but I'm OK with them separated.\

2. Yes

3. I'm not interested in gen fic, so my vote is for any method that enables us to nominate romantic ships as well as gen ships/groups and/or characters.

1. I prefer them being separate when there's conflict (such as ASOIAF/GOT) but I don't mind them being together when they are just really big franchises (Star Wars, MCU). As long as the minimum number of character/relationship offers is low enough that I can stick to parts of canon I'm familiar with, I don't care if the tagset also includes characters I'm not familiar with.

2. If fandoms are consolidated, I think you should have more character/relationship slots per fandom. No opinion on more fandoms.

3. I am all for relationships.
